Our story

The shop behind the clothes.

Faiza's Boutique trades from inside Nimra Halal Foods at 89/90 Parnell Street, a few minutes' walk from O'Connell Street. It is a family business in the ordinary sense of the phrase: the people who choose the stock are the people behind the counter, and the alterations are done on the premises rather than sent away to a workroom you never see.

The rails carry what people actually wear — to a wedding, a mehndi, an Eid lunch, a Diwali party, or an ordinary Friday at work. Salwar kameez in stitched, semi-stitched and unstitched cloth; sarees, lehenga choli, sharara and anarkali; kurtis and abaya, hijab and prayer scarves; sherwani and kurta pyjama for men; and the jewellery, bangles, attar and prayer mats that finish an outfit properly.

Some of it is bought for the biggest day of somebody's life, and some of it is bought on a Tuesday afternoon because a sleeve needs shortening. Both are treated the same way at the counter.

That is also why the shop is where it is. Census 2022 counted 94,434 people living in Ireland who identify as Indian, Pakistani or Bangladeshi, and Parnell Street is where much of that community shops, eats and meets. The boutique exists for them — and equally for the Irish customers who come looking for a wedding outfit, something for Diwali, or a kurta they have seen in a photograph. Census 2022, CSO.

What we do beyond selling

Fitting, altering, and making to measure.

A shop that only sells is a shop you can replace with a website. These are the things that happen at the counter on Parnell Street.

Alterations, made to measure and bridal fittings are all arranged in the shop.

Message us with what you need — a hem, a full made-to-measure outfit, or a bridal appointment — and we will tell you what is possible and what it costs before you travel.

How we work

Four standards we hold to.

None of these are marketing claims. They are the rules the shop runs on, and you can hold us to every one of them.

  • Alterations happen here, not elsewhere

Hems, sleeves, linings and blouses are taken in on the premises. That is the whole reason to buy an outfit from a shop instead of a warehouse — the fit is finished by the people who sold it to you.

  • Stitching is stated plainly

Ready to wear, semi-stitched and unstitched are labelled as what they are, on the product page and again on the card in the grid. Nobody should open a parcel and discover they have bought a piece of fabric.

  • The tag is the price

Prices include VAT, and there are no invented countdowns or manufactured scarcity. When something is the last one, that is a fact about the stock, not a tactic.

  • The exceptions are written down

The 14-day distance-selling right is stated in full, together with the pieces it does not cover — garments already altered to your specification, and anything made to measure.

The returns position is set out in full in the delivery & returns policy, including the pieces that fall outside the 14-day cancellation right.
